About the Position: The position is located at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) a remote & isolated installation approximately 50 minutes from Tooele, Utah and 90 minutes' drive from Salt Lake City, Utah. DPG has a highly professional workforce providing support to an array of missions and organizations. DPG offers various alternate work schedule opportunities with most of the workforce working 4 ten hour shifts Monday thru Thursday. DPG is physically remote, entirely self-sufficient with government housing available for civilians, an Army and Air Force Exchange Service Exchange Outlet, Commissary, Community Club, Golf Course, Bowling Center, Physical Fitness Center, Child Care, Youth Services and Tooele County K-12 school system on post. Employees choosing to live off post may use subsidized commuter van transport which operates to and from many of the major cities and towns throughout Utah. Serves as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional measurements applicable to the secondary transfer level calibration, certification and evaluation of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). The purpose is to provide measurement traceability through an Army Area Calibration Laboratory, the Army Primary Standards Laboratory, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology to the International System of Units, and provide information on TMDE accuracy and uncertainty. Performs repairs incidental to calibration as required.
